Staying in a cabin?
Find out if bedding is supplied. If not, bring a sleeping bag and pillow
A few of the cabins have kitchenette and/or washroom facilities. Find out and prepare accordingly!
Tenting?
It rains a lot in July! An extra tarp over your tent will help keep you dry
Be Bear-Smart! You don't want a black bear cuddling up. Follow these simple rules:
Never leave food, coolers or garbage unattended. When not in use, store these items in your unit or vehicle. Even food items like open pop cans and sunflower seeds will attract a black bear.
Dispose of your garbage as soon as possible in the designated areas. If you are unable to do so right away, place it in a safe place (the trunk of your vehicle or inside you RV unit.)
Do not leave any of these items inside a tent or tent trailer – bears will tear through them.
Do not hang any of these items on a tree – bears are excellent climbers.
Dispose of cooking water and wash water in the outhouses. Do not dump it on the ground or vegetation.
You can charge your phone in the JMC!
Doing your own cooking?
The food at the camp kitchen is unbeatable. However, you can certainly save money by planning to prepare one or more of your own meals each day.
The friendly staff at Discover Ness Creek can advise you on what they might have available to make this easier (picnic tables refrigerator space, etc.) No guarantees, but it's worth asking.
There is limited freezer and fridge space available in the JMC. Ask Cathy!
Don't tempt the bears!
Other things to consider
A screen tent is great for hosting evening jam sessions, bug free!
The Ness Creek hiking trail is beautiful! Brink some good footwear and check it out!
Nesslin Lake has a lovely beach, a short drive away. A swim on a hot afternoon might be just the thing
Got friends in the area? Be sure to tell them about the evening concerts and dances!
